Littlemas Day 18: Do a Random Act of Kindness Together [FREE Printable]

My Post

Hi My Friends!

Today is Littlemas Day 18, and today I challenge you to step outside of your comfort zone to do a random act of kindness for someone. It could be for a complete stranger. I remember one day I was walking out of the grocery store with a friend. We live in a town where there are few homeless people, but as I walked towards the parking lot I saw a woman sitting on the curb. In her arms was a small child and a stroller was perched next to them. My heart sank. Instantly I dug into my wallet and pulled out a $20 dollar bill. Walking over to the woman I mumbled to her in Spanish, “Please, use this for food for you and your baby”. The woman smiled at me and nodded. “God bless you” she said shyly. And that was that.

My friend blinked at me in shock. “That was a really nice thing you did!” he said startled as I walked back towards him. I shrugged. “We’re all one step away from homelessness” I said quietly. And that’s how I feel. All it takes is one medical disaster for the bills to rack up… or a death to put a family in a tailspin. There was a time in my life where I did struggle to eat, and get my basic needs met. So I’ve been there, and I wouldn’t wish it upon anybody.

So today, and every day, let’s try to do little things to make this world a kinder place. I know it’s scary stepping out and doing something nice… simply because you can. It can feel odd when a person looks at you startled and asks, “Why me?”. But it’s simply because you can, that you do it. We choose to spread kindness because the world needs love. We choose to give unto others because you can’t take anything with you to the grave. We choose to show love and mercy to those who need it, because they will remember it and pay it forward. I hope you enjoy today’s list of acts of kindness. Use it and make this season magical and bright. Have a beautiful night everyone! ❤
