Hi My Friends!
Today I am kicking off a new series called, “Let’s Talk About Sex, Baby”. This 10 part series will focus on different aspects of sex and sexual exploration. I hope you find something inspirational to take away from this series. Today’s topic is “A Sex Life Without Pornography”. Ahh… porn. I’ve touched on porn several times since I began this blog. If you’re new to my blog, welcome! 🙂 I’m so glad you’re here. Porn is a funny thing. It’s one of those industries that is a multi-billion dollar industry, and yet it is still considered “taboo” to many people. It’s not something people go around discussing. For many, it’s a form of entertainment to reach climax. For others, it’s a blight on society that should be wiped from the face of the earth!
I’ve met couples where the woman will tell me flat out, “if my husband ever looks at porn he knows that I will leave him! I DO NOT want him to ever look at another woman’s body… even if it’s a porn actress!”. Then I’ve met other couples who love watching porn together. So as you can see, the opinion of porn varies widely. In past posts on here, I shared with you how I believe that DDLG porn is more harmful than beneficial. The actors that partake in age play scenes are often not from the community, and therefore depict age play scenes in all the wrong ways. It’s not something that I encourage people to watch.
But am I against porn? Well, no. Not exactly, anyway. If I’m being 100% transparent here, I have looked at porn before. Like countless others, I have ventured online and looked at various fetishes, videos, and risque photos online. And while I understand the appeal of using porn as a form of entertainment for release, today I want to turn our attention to a different form of sexual arousal: erotic writing. As I’ve gotten older, (mind you, I’m still in my early 30’s but still…), I’ve come to appreciate a well thought out sex scene. This is probably why I chose to forgo watching porn in the future. It just wasn’t doing it for me. I wanted something alluring and intriguing. I wanted imagery and naughtiness. I wanted something that would actually push my mind (the largest sex organ in the body!) to its limits. And it was in erotic writing that I found the solution.
Now I have to pause here for a moment.
I’ve read Fifty Shades of Grey. Okay, I’ve read the whole series. *blushes*! But, there are many, many more books out there that are better written than Christian Grey nailing Anastasia Steele in the “red room of pain”. (And was anyone else equally disappointed by the movies, as I was?). Anyway, erotic writing is an excellent source of “smut” that can be a great tool to use in the bedroom together as a couple. Let’s think about this for a moment. When you’re watching porn, generally speaking you do it alone, right? But, imagine your partner, with book in hand, reading out a passage to you that describes in vivid detail: a tongue trailing over the head of a cock… as the woman’s eyes look up into her partners with complete adoration. His lips part ever so slightly as he groans and as if that were a signal to her, she slips her ruby, red lips over his cock pushing him deep in the back of her throat.
Pretty sexy, right?
Letting your mind paint the picture of what the sex scene looks like, can be far more arousing and sexual than an R-rated movie or porn. My point in this post is that you don’t need porn to get off, when you have your mind and imagination. Let the delicious details flow from the book to paint a picture in your mind’s eye. If you’ve never read an erotic novel before, then I have just the list for you. Check out these titles and see if one sparks your fancy! I hope you all enjoy this list, and have many hours of happy reading! Stay tuned for the next installment in this series. Have a wonderful Sunday, and as always, keep on smiling! 🙂
