Good Evening Friends!
I love going to the playground. As a silly, wholesome Little, I love swinging on swings. Today, I had every intention of going to the playground to snap a photo for you. Then, I had to let my cat go. Then, I had oral surgery. The stars were not aligning for that dang photo! But then, my new bed came in the mail.
Now let’s pause here for a moment. How do you sleep? No, really. In what position do you sleep? Are you a side sleeper? Are you a back sleeper? Do you burrow into a cocoon?
Sleep is actually very important and part of my self-care routine. Over time, as I decided to tackle my anxiety head on, it became a precious (almost ritualistic) part of my day. I have a specific routine for bed that weaves in my Little side. I shower with products that are my favorite scent. I wear pajamas that make me feel small. I say my bedtime prayers and allow myself to ponder. Then I nestle up my pillows in the shape of an L and finally pass out.
But I wanted more.
Which is why…. I switch to sleeping in a hammock! 😀 I’m so excited that my hammock is here. There’s one for me, and one for my husband. Now, for anyone in shock that my husband and I don’t actually Zzz-sleep together, rest assured the hammocks are side by side. So we’ll be just two swinging cocoons in the same room. 🙂 But I digress.
I love my new hammock, friends! As a curvy little I wanted a hammock stand that could take my weight and then some. So I chose this hammock stand (built to hold up two people) complete with a special built in side table. It’s large enough for a book, cell phone, and it has a cup holder too! The hammock itself is all natural linen and is gentle on the eyes, as I am a minimalist who doesn’t like a lot of visual stimulation. But what I love most about sleeping in a hammock is that I can incorporate my love for play, being small, and creating a whimsical environment, into an ordinary task! ❤
So while I didn’t get to the playground…. I did get to swing! 😀 I hope you find your own ways to incorporate play into your normal routine! Sending big hugs to you, wherever you are and I will see you back here in the morning! ❤
