Chubby Little Photo Challenge Day 13: Rock Out to Your Favorite Music

Chubby Little Challenge Banner

Good Evening My Friends!

Is it warm where you are? Or is California just melting away into the sea? I hope you’re staying cool wherever you are. Tonight I challenge you to listen to your favorite music to put you into little space. For me, I have always had a deep relationship with music. The very first CD I ever owned was a Whitney Houston CD. But before that, I owned cassettes and vinyl records. (Hehe, I’m showing my age, right?!). Yes, I would sit there with my children’s record player and lift the needle to just the right place on the Disney songs record. Then, I’d wiggle on the carpeted floor in my sundress bopping away.

As I got a little older cassettes and The Walkman became popular. “Ice, Ice, Baby” was my favorite tune then. (Yes, I can still rap most of it today). And I thought I was so cool to be able to take my music with me on the go. Then, came The Disc-Man, which ate batteries left, right, and center. But, whatever medium I was using, music has always had a special place in my heart. I have used music to express myself when the words just wouldn’t come. I’ve sobbed to songs that touched me completely. I’ve wiggled across the floor in socks and a t-shirt, pretending that I was in “Dirty Dancing”. And I’ve clenched my hairbrush, in all its glory, singing boy band tunes at the top of my lungs. (B.S.B. 4 Life!)

But as a Little, music is slightly different for me.

I turn towards music that gives me roots and a purpose. Music that taps into the inner parts of me that are separate from simply rocking out. Places that most of the world never sees. And for me…. that’s Celtic music. πŸ™‚ You see, I’m Irish through and through. Next to Christmas, St. Patrick’s Day is my second most favorite holiday, and one that I’ve been celebrating my whole life.

So tonight I’m snapping this pic of me, in my regular bum-around clothing that I wear at home. Just a tank top and sweatpants. But the smile that you see, and the sparkle in my eyes comes from this favorite tune that I sing daily. I hope you enjoy it.

What music resonates with you in Little Space? Comment and let me know!Β

I hope you all have a beautiful night. Stay cool, and I will see you back here for the next topic!

Much love,

~Kitten/Punkin Xx

  1. Ahh, nothing like turning on some music to set the mood in our house! πŸ˜€ The High Kings is pretty much a staple in our household! I always like to call St. Patrick’s Day our “Second Christmas” just because how special it. Kitten, you’ve made me fall in love with Irish culture ❀

As for another staple: Let's go!
