Good Evening Friends,
Today was… a day. I could feel it coming. The rise in my chest and the need to regress into Little Space. I yearned for it by mid-afternoon, rubbing the headache that was growing in my skull. By the time dinner rolled around I declared myself “off duty” and went to lay down. Stress can be a killer. 10 years ago I woke up one morning with sharp pain in my back and side. After going to the doctors office I was immediately diagnosed with shingles. “How the heck do you get that?!” I asked the doctor. “Stress” I was told simply. Stress. We all have it. We all need to process it. Tonight is one of those nights where I’m giving the family supper and taking a hiatus for the evening to carve out time for self-care. I won’t let my body relapse again. Not this time.
Which brings me to tonight’s challenge: watch your favorite program.
In truth, it’s hard for me to sit still for long periods of time, so movies can be tricky. Tonight, not feeling super little, but not wanting to watch a serious program I opted for “Queer Eye” on Netflix. I love watching “Queer Eye”. Tan has incredible fashion sense. Antoni is easy on the eyes and I grin when he gets all emotional. JVN is like a cheerleader on steroids and so sassy and fierce. Bobby has an impeccable eye for design and his personal story of how he left home at 15 and made something of himself is truly moving. And of course, Karamo is phenomenal with his background in social work to be able to help clients move through emotions during their week-long makeovers.
So, that’s what I’m doing tonight! What are you all up to? Comment and let me know, I’d love to hear from you. I hope you all have a wonderful night and I will see you back here in the morning.
