Good Afternoon Friends,
Thank you for all the love and likes I’ve received today. Things are much better and my heart feels calmer. Daddy C and I are good, so with a deep exhalation I’m marching onward in my posts. This post was inspired by my daughter. 🙂 You see, before I ever became an adult Little I became a mother. When my daughter was younger, she would grin from ear to ear when I would surprise her by turning her food into silly faces or construct a tower from her dish, etc. We still have a running tradition that every year on her birthday she gives me a theme and I bake her a homemade birthday cake. This year the theme is “kawaii” so my thinking cap is bubbling with all kinds of exciting things to do.
When I slowly embraced the Little part of myself, I utilized the tools gained as a mom to make Little Space food for myself! I would take a sandwich and a cookie cutter and turn my lunch into a fun shape. I would cut out eyes and a smile to make me smile. I would play with fruit to make a rainbow smoothie drink. As I got more and more comfortable with my little space, my food dishes became more elaborate and the whole family jumped on board. This sandwich was made by my daughter today. “Mom” she said, bringing it over to me, “this is to make you smile”. And you know what? It did.
Sometimes all we need is something smiling back at you to make you smile. Now that I think of it, I wonder why gourmet restaurants don’t drizzle a smiley over their soup, or arrange fruit on pancakes to make a face?
Today’s challenge: turn your mealtime into a Little Space meal by making it whimsical to make you smile!
How do you arrange food in Little Space to make yourself smile? Comment and let me know! I’d love to hear from you. Alright my friends, that’s it from me for this post. I hope you all enjoyed it.
