Good Evening Friends,
So often on my blog you’ll hear me pushing you to shop at thrift stores to pick up items for your Little Space. There is never a need to break the bank when it comes to shaping your Cg/l attire and play items. Tonight’s challenge stays true to this theme. Your challenge: go to your local thrift store and find a unique item to bring home! For me, it was a mug. As you all know, I love my tea time. In fact, I recently did away with dinner in the house altogether and declared that dinner would now simply be “tea time”. Light nibbles and a large pot of tea all around. The family was definitely pleased. 🙂
When shopping at your local thrift store there are a few items that you’re sure to find that can really enhance your Little Space:
- Real porcelain dishes (cups, bowls, plates, etc.)
- Baby blankets
- Baby books
Tonight I want to share with you this mug I picked up recently at the thrift store. It cost me 50 cents. It looks like it jumped right out of the 1980’s which makes me giggle since I was born in 84′. But it’s the message that is written on it that really sealed the deal and now I incorporate it into my daily routine. Here’s what it says:
” The Tides of Life:
At the beach when the tide is going out, the waves recede and it seems that nothing is happening in the sea. But the truth is that the great swells are gathering strength beneath the waters, building energy for the time when the tide will return. It’s similar to the times in our own lives when something we have depended on is gone and we are left with a feeling of emptiness and sadness. At times like this we can take heart, knowing that an unseen strength is building within us. And if we can only be patient, relying on a sure faith, the tide of life will turn and happiness and fulfillment will once again return to us. -Dean Walley”
May we all never forget to have hope. The tides really do turn. Blessings come when you least expect it, and will bathe you in a wave of love that will blow your mind. Happiness will swell around you and lift you up, just like the waves of the sea. 🙂
What unique items have you found at the thrift store? Comment and let me know! I’d love to hear from you.
