Good Morning Friends,
A couple of days ago my parental senses tingled in the wee hours of the morning. Heading towards my daughter my groggy eyes snapped to attention. Sure enough as I peered over her in her bed she frowned up at me. “Mama… I don’t feel well” she mumbled. Isn’t it interesting, as parents, how we know almost instinctively when something is wrong with our child? So, I’ve been on mommy-nurse duty for the past several days helping her get back on the mend. Now it’s my turn to have a bout of the sniffles and head cold. So, today I’m nestled up giving myself some TLC. With hubby at work, and Daddy C a busy bee too… I was on my own this morning for reading myself this picture book to put myself in Little Space.
But that’s okay because this book is fantastic! Feeling sick and Little, today I have a wonderful book for you to read. Are you ready for today’s story? Then, let’s dive in…
Day 2 of the P&C Collaboration: “The Good Egg” By: Jory John and Pete Oswald
Once upon there was a little egg who lived in an egg carton at the grocery store. He lived with 11 other brothers and sisters. There was Meg. And Clegg. Hank, Frank, and the other Frank too. Yet, the good egg was different from his 11 other brothers and sisters. He wanted to be a good egg. He wanted to behave. He wanted to paint houses, help with groceries, and take care of others. The other eggs wanted to be a rotten egg! They wanted to act up and misbehave. So one day the good egg decides that something has to be done and he makes a giant “egg-cellent” decision….
I loved this book because the theme is all about self-love and self-care. With adorable pictures, I was totally into this story from the start. Here is one of my favorite pages from the story:
I give this book…. TWO PAWS UP! We all need time for self-care. We all need “me time” and this book reminds us of that. So I totally hope you check it out and weave it into your little space!
** Don’t forget to hop on over to Daddy C’s blog “The Wild Wood” and check out his Day 2 post! **
Be sure to check out your local library to see if they have this book in stock.
Or! You can watch this read aloud video of the book here:
Alright my friends, that’s it from me for this post. I hope you all enjoyed it. I’m off to rest and snuggle up with some more books. I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday, and I will see you back here for the next topic!
