Good Evening Friends,
Tonight is a rambly kind of night, but first some exciting news: Daddy C and I video chatted for the first time since we saw each other in person! Admittedly, my heart thumped in my chest as I pushed the FaceTime button on my phone. But… after a couple of minutes, Daddy laid on the couch. There was a moment of pause. Heard him exhale as we gazed into each other’s eyes. The familiar flutter in my stomach of butterflies and excitement filled my body and I blushed! “I miss you!” I blurted out at the exact same time he said, “I miss you”. We both smiled. Long distance relationships are hard but… I also believe that if the connection is right and meant to be then it’s so worth it. Daddy C and I have this beautiful, powerful bond. While we have tons of sexual attraction, in that moment on the phone today all I wanted to do was leap through the phone and bear hug him.
I remember how strong and warm his arms are. I remember the scent of his skin and the way he squeezed me so tight when we touched for the first time. I know how his lips curl into that half smile and half smirk as he’s intently listening to me. All of the little things that make up his body language I remember so intimately… and I miss them. So, we’ve made it our mission to video chat from here on out. Oh well if my hair decides to be a crazy crown of curls! Oh well, if I’m romping around in my pajamas! It’s my Daddy, and we love each other very much. 🙂
When I’m not on here blogging, I have to say that I’ve been voraciously reading Meg Cabot’s “Abandon” series. Is anyone a fan out there of YA novels? If so, lend me your ears because you’re going to want to check out this three-set book trilogy written by the woman who created “The Princess Diaries”:
Seventeen-year-old Pierce Oliviera isn’t dead.
Not this time.
But she is being held against her will in the dim, twilit world between heaven and hell, where the spirits of the deceased wait before embarking upon their final journey.
Her captor, John Hayden, claims it’s for her own safety. Because not all the departed are dear. Some are so unhappy with where they ended up after leaving the Underworld, they’ve come back as Furies, intent on vengeance . . . on the one who sent them there and on the one whom he loves.
But while Pierce might be safe from the Furies in the Underworld, far worse dangers could be lurking for her there . . . and they might have more to do with its ruler than with his enemies. – Meg Cabot
And lastly…. I have a recipe for you!
Lately I have been craving pancakes. Yes, you can get pre-made pancake mix from the box. But trust me when I say that this recipe below is so much tastier and more flavorful. Plus it isn’t loaded with sugar. It’s a total win-win! Get in the kitchen with your Daddy or Mommy and give this recipe a try! 🙂 xx
Easy Apple Cinnamon Buttermilk Pancakes
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 4 tbsp. softened butter
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- a pinch of salt
- Mix all of the ingredients (above) into a large bowl until well combined and the batter is smooth.
- Get a non-stick frying pan and spray with cooking spray (or use butter!). Over medium heat, ladle a scoop of batter into the frying pan.
- Wait for bubbles to rise on the pancake and for it to form around the edge. Then, flip over and cook on the other side until golden brown.
- Serve hot with butter and syrup and enjoy!
