Settling Into Fall…. Little Style [Reflections]

Good Evening Friends,

I stared at my blog yearning to write but the words just wouldn’t come. Most of the time I try to stick to a topic at hand which is informational, yet fun for everyone to read. But every once in a while I’m simply me: an adult Little just making her way through the world. (Why is Michelle Branch suddenly in my head?). Anyway, I thought in this post I would ramble and let you know a few things that I’m up to. When I’m not blogging on here I’m cooking up soup on the daily. Yes, soup is my go-to jam when the weather cools down. Here are my top 5 favorite soup recipes:

Soup and a hunk of warm, buttered, crusty bread…. and I’m a happy, little girl. 🙂 So, that’s one thing I’ve been up to.

Another thing that I’ve been bustling with is preparing for Halloween! My kiddo is just beyond the age where trick-or-treating is “lame” but not so old that she doesn’t care about the holiday anymore. So, on Sunday we’re heading off to a haunted house!! She is over the top excited, and I’ll be squeezing hubby’s hand the entire time while we romp through a multi-storied house with “monsters” in the dark.

I’ve also been switching out my wardrobe from tank tops and capri’s to sweaters and leggings. This is one of my favorite reasons why I love Fall!! I love an oversized hoodie (because it makes me feel Little) and wacky patterned leggings. I love my rainbow sweater from Walmart, and my denim overalls. I love my pink Adidas shoes and matching baseball cap. I love wearing layers of many colors that all feel so soft against my skin. Yes, fall ROCKS when it comes to snuggly fashion! Speaking of! Have you seen the new Littleforbig hoodie? I nearly died and put it on my Christmas (or birthday!) Wish List!!

So when I’m not totally drooling over DDLG-Fashion… I’ve been reading books to my daughter! Yes, she’s still at the age where she loves picture books being read to her. (And I enjoy them too! 😉 ). So we have been snuggling up together and reading some wonderful Halloween themed picture books from our library.

Of course, now that she is a “tween” (*gasps*!) she also wants to watch scary-but-not-really-scary movies lol. Personally I don’t like scary movies very much. If I want to get scared I can do that on my own. But, when she asks, Mama delivers. So today I pulled together a list of kinda scary movies that we can watch without getting nightmares including:

  • The Ring
  • Labyrinth
  • The Spiderwick Chronicles
  • Signs
  • The Others
  • The Village
  • Practical Magic
  • Charmed
  • Sleepy Hollow (1999)
  • A Quiet Place (2018)
  • The Craft (1996)
  • Scooby Doo (2002)
  • Scream (1996)

And lastly, we’re getting outside more! Now that it’s not blazing hot anymore we have been enjoying heading to the beach (with no tourists! Yay!!), working out on the farm, and just soaking in Fall here in California.

How are you enjoying fall? Comment and let me know! I’d love to hear from you! 🙂 Alright my friends, that’s it from me for this post. But I hope you have a wonderful night and I will see you back here for the next topic!

Much love,

~Kitten/Punkin xx
