Good Evening Friends,
It’s nearly bedtime here, and my post is later than usual. So, please accept my apologies. Tonight I’d like to discuss movement, fitness, and how to support your submissive as you encourage them to live a healthy lifestyle. If you’re one of those already-active people, then God bless you, and I tip my sparkly hat to you. But if you’re like me and a bunch of other people, then odds are that you need someone pushing you to get up and get fit! When it comes to movement, the truth is that there are many ways to achieve an active lifestyle. You don’t need a fancy gym membership. You don’t need a bunch of expensive equipment. You only need a passion for an activity, and a desire to make it happen. Are you ready to explore this topic with me? Then, let’s dive in. 🙂
I. There’s No Right or Wrong in Ecstatic Dance:
The first time I stumbled across the term, “ecstatic dance” I remember thinking that it sounded like a bunch of people jumping around akin to a rave. They were ecstatic to the music, right? Ecstatic dance is actually an activity where people come together to move fluidly how the music makes them feel. You only touch another dancer with consent, but everyone feels the energy in the music and moves how they wish to move. There is no “one way” to move. You don’t need to follow an instructor. All you need to do is relax and dance! Here is an example of ecstatic dance:
Ecstatic dance is an excellent way to connect with your submissive because you can both let loose in a safe, organized space. You can dance without judgement. You can move and feel each others energy. You can watch your Little twirl and feel at peace as they spin across the floor. Plus, anyone who is shy to dancing can feel at ease since any movement is acceptable. I highly encourage you to check out a local ecstatic dance group near you. It’s fun, affordable, and a great way to make new friends. If dancing in public makes you want to crawl under the covers and hide, then try bringing ecstatic dance into your home! Crank up the tunes, and dance with your submissive. Let loose and feel how your body craves to move.
II. Be Your Partner’s Accountability Workout Buddy:
Now, as the dominant, your submissive is going to need your guidance and strength to keep to their daily workout regimen. This is where you can shine. If you have a Little, try making a colorful exercise chart and schedule for them. (Yes, us littles love stickers and earning little marks for good behavior 😉 ). You can get tech-y with it and sync up a Google calendar with your sub to put reminders in their phone to workout at certain times of the week. Make sure you hold them accountable. Be their biggest cheerleader. Support them as they begin to get in shape. It takes time, patience, and a foot rub or two until their body begins to adjust to the intense workouts. Push them with love and kindness. Remind them of their goals, and be patient when they have an “off” day and whine about how difficult it is. I encourage you to dig deep within yourself to meet their temporary grumps with compassion.
If your submissive is really struggling to workout alone, try working out with them! Everyone needs to weave fitness into their life, so why not make a plan to do it together? 🙂 Pick an activity that you both love and get going! (Psst! You can also shower up together afterwards, hehe!).
III. Build a Life for Your Little That Has Intentional Movement:
Years ago I read a phenomenal book called, “The Blue Zones” about different pockets around the world where scientists have found clusters of centenarians living in the same town. What they found was, in these various regions, while the religion may have been different, and the people ate different foods, they all had intentional movement in their life. They designed their life to make it just slightly difficult for themselves. In doing so, they had to “work” just a little to do common tasks. For example: instead of sitting at a desk to work, they used a standing desk. Instead of taking an elevator they used the stairs. So, too, can we do the same thing with our lives. We can park away from the grocery store entrance to get in just a few more walking steps. We can swap out our desk chair for a physio-chair that engages our core muscles while we are working.
Help your submissive build intentional movement into their life. Give them tasks to walk 5,000 or 10,000 steps a day. It seems like a lot, but once you get moving it really isn’t that difficult. If you have a Little who stays at home often, link them videos of fun workout routines (for kids) that they can complete. They will be moving, and it will keep them in the little head space. Which brings me to tonight’s gentle guidance exercise! 😉
IV. Daily Guidance Exercise: Try a Workout for Kids Together!
There are so many ways to incorporate fitness into your Little’s life. Children’s workout videos are a great way to keep your Little having fun, while still moving those muscles. Tonight I have two video options to link you. You and your Little can pick one to complete (or both if you’re feeling super energized!) and then reflect on how it made you feel. The first video is a wonderful children’s yoga video by the company, “Cosmic Kids Yoga”. They produce yoga videos for children through the use of a story. Your Little will definitely stay engaged all the way through.
The second video is a fun rhythmic dance video from Debbie Doo Kids TV. It’s colorful, and the tune is very catchy. Trust me (lol). If you enjoy this video by Debbie Doo, she has plenty of other videos to check out and enjoy!
