Day 16 of “Diving into Disney”: Grandmother Willow

Good Evening Friends!

So many times I’ve asked myself, “What is my purpose in life?”. We’ve all felt this need for purpose. In our own connections and relationships we can question what our role is within them. Today we’re going to dive into finding your purpose, and why Grandmother Willow from “Pocahontas” is a fabulous role model to answer this very question. Are you ready? Then, let’s dive in! 🙂

I. Grandmother Willow:

Purpose: The object toward which one strives or for which something exists; an aim or goal.

Deep in the forest of the New World, Pocahontas sat on the stump of Grandmother Willow, an ancient, magical weeping willow tree, and asked her a single question: “What is my purpose? And how am I going to find it?”. I’m sure we can all relate to Pocahontas feeling lost. Throughout the movie, Grandmother Willow helps Pocahontas understand the purpose for which she was destined to achieve. Although at a glance it appeared that her purpose was to fall in love (and be with) John Smith. But her greater purpose was to unite two cultures with a deeper sense of respect and understanding. But it all began with the wisdom from Grandmother Willow who helped Pocahontas listen to her heart. Pocahontas was afraid to be the successor of the Tribe that her father led. She was afraid of fulfilling her mothers’ role, as a leader and aid to her people. But Grandmother Willow helped her see that just because we have fear doesn’t mean that we should block out the signs and spirits that move and guide us. And that is why Grandmother Willow is an excellent role model for Littles!

IV. Personal Development Lesson:

Tonight I’m feeling really sleepy. But before I drift off to dreamland I’d like to take a moment to touch upon purpose and how we discover ours within the Cg/l lifestyle. My friends, whether you’re a dominant or a Little, your purpose within the lifestyle is going to be an ever-evolving journey. You might begin to explore one aspect of Cg/l only to discover that it doesn’t fit you at all! So, you move on and try something else. You will shift and explore facets within the lifestyle until something resonates with you. Then, you will hold onto that part and continue to explore. As you grow sure within your Little Side you will be able to articulate what kind of Little you feel that you are, and (if you choose to have a dominant) what your needs are in a D/s relationship.

As I look back on my own journey, (which many of you have read here <3), I have been through D/s relationships and break up’s. I have grown and become sure in who I am as a solo Little. I have created my own Little Space within the vast, imaginative, creative part of my mind. And it is there that I dance, play, and share my love for this lifestyle with all of my friends.

Sometimes finding our purpose is difficult. We strive to understand the meaning of everything and we yearn for the answers right now! But, sometimes we have to search for the answers. We must get “dirty” and explore. Don’t be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone. If you are yearning for a “tribe” of non-judgmental Little-friends who you can hang out with… talk with… laugh with… and watch movies with… then, come join us! And I’ll be the first one to give you a virtual hug and welcome you to server. ❤

Don’t forget to come chat with me and all of my Little and Dominant friends on:

I can’t wait to chat with all of you!!

Much love,

~Penny xx
