Day 20 of “Diving into Disney”: Jane Porter

Good Afternoon Friends!

It’s another beautiful Friday and we are truly blessed to be here together. How are you doing over there? How is life going for you in these unprecedented times? Around here Little Berry is back to school doing everything via virtual learning. Life has transitioned and it feels like we are slowly wading through a thick jungle of uncertainty. Masks are the norm. Gloves are the new accessory. And Lysol is flying off of the grocery store shelves faster than bread or eggs. Jane Porter can relate to times of uncertainty. Much like us, Jane from Disney’s “Tarzan” chose to head deep into the rain forest to study gorillas. With her professor-father in tow, she was on a mission to try and capture as much as she could. Despite her best efforts to prepare and educate herself of what to expect, (much like us in this pandemic), Jane quickly had to throw her plan out the window and adapt to the new-normal. Are you ready to learn more about Jane Porter with me? Then, let’s dive in! ❤

I. Jane Porter:

Grace: is elegant simplicity that minimizes crudeness.

Imagine heading deep into the jungle only to discover a human man who has been living among gorillas his whole life! From the moment that Jane and Tarzan met, they were instantly taken with each other. Jane approached Tarzan from a place of compassion and understanding. Tarzan approached her from a place of curiosity and longing. Each had a void in their heart that needed to be fulfilled and they found it within each other. Yet, Jane’s obstacles to connecting with Tarzan were far from easy. The gorillas were fiercely protective and elusive to any outside humans. Tarzan was under strict orders from his Alpha-father, Kerchek, to never disclose the location of the pack. Jane, while wanting so desperately to see gorillas in person, knew that she had to accept that Tarzan couldn’t betray his family.

She chose to be loving, gracious, and understanding while putting her own needs aside. She chose to set down her research and instead focus on helping Tarzan understand humans. (A far cry from her original mission!). She never belittled Tarzan for having a lack of understanding towards the human world. Instead, she carried herself with grace and understanding. She showed him pictures of the outside world and explained what each one meant. Little by little Tarzan’s eyes were opened to a whole new idea of the world around him. Jane chose a humble, quiet, compassionate path and this is why she is an excellent role model for dominants and Littles. 🙂

IV. Personal Development Lesson:

Today I’d like to write to the dominants. It’s a quiet, compassionate path that you need to take when choosing the Little that best suits your needs and personality. It is a choice that should never be quickly made. Today I challenge every dominant to approach their D/s relationship with grace. Understand that being an Adult Little is a process, much like discovering that you’re a dominant is a process. Your Little will need patience, understanding, and loads of support as they discover who they are inside. If you ask your Little what they enjoy in Little Space and their answer is, “I don’t know”, don’t be alarmed. Instead, meet their answer with grace. Make things simple for them. Suggest various play sessions and gently explore things within the lifestyle together to see what feels right and what doesn’t. Help them into a onesie. Place a bottle to their lips with their favorite drink. Talk soothingly in a Caregiver tone to help them regress in the mindset. Get down on the floor and play with toys. Tuck them into bed and read them a story before they drift off to sleep. Wash their hair in the shower or bathtub and make them feel nice and clean. Your ability to be gentle and understanding while your Little is figuring out who they are inside will help your relationship to thrive.

Alright my friends, that’s it from me for today’s post. I hope you all enjoyed it. If you did, hit that like button and let me know. Smash that follow button if you’re new around here. 🙂 And I will see you back here for the next topic!

Don’t forget to come chat with me and all of my Little and Dominant friends on: Tonight we will be watching “The Emperor’s New Groove” from 5-7 pm PST. I hope you will join us!!

I can’t wait to chat with all of you!!

~Penny xx
