Day 31 of Diving into Disney: Moana

Good Morning Friends!

Today is the FINAL day of the “Diving into Disney” workshop for Littles. I can’t believe it! 🙂 I hope you all have enjoyed it as much as I have. Around The Berry Patch Discord Server we are gearing up for a fun day of activities. Here is today’s schedule, and I hope YOU will join us too!

Monday 8/31:

Monday Musicals: “Singin’ In The Rain” (9 am-Noon)

Culture Hour: “Boy and the World” & Brazilian Culture Trivia Contest (3-4:30 pm PST)

Movie Night: “Moana” (5-7 pm PST)

That said, today we are going to discuss the character quality: conviction. Moana needed conviction to venture across the ocean in search of the demigod, Maui. She needed conviction to assume her role has the princess of her village. She needed conviction to understand Te Fiti and how she could help. Today we are going to apply the meaning of conviction to our own D/s relationships. Are you ready? Then, let’s dive in! ❤

I. Moana:

Conviction: a firmly held belief or opinion.

Merriam Webster Dictionary

Moana grew up in a small atoll in the South Pacific. Her village was led by her parents and so she was raised to appreciate being the princess of her village. But like many small tribes in Micronesia, the reef around the island began to get over-fished. Besides coconuts and taro root, the village began struggling to catch daily fish. Moana had the foresight to know that they had to sail out beyond the reef to catch some fish. Yet, her father had declared that sailing beyond the reef was forbidden. Little did she know that her father had tried the very same thing when he was young. As a result, he and his best friend had capsized and the friend had drowned. The single ray of hope in Moana’s life came from her grandma. She taught Moana the stories of Te Fiti and the Demigod Maui who helped create the world. “Follow the bottom of Maui’s hook in the sky to the very ends of the sea. There you will find him” she said to Moana. So, one night Moana set out across the ocean determined to get Maui to help her village.

She had to have conviction that she would make it across the sea alive. She had to believe that the ocean was her friend and not her foe. She had to believe that she had the knowledge to convince Maui to come back and help her. Throughout her journey she had so many obstacles to overcome. She held faith in her heart that all would turn out okay. And she trusted her heart to guide her every step of the way even when Maui abandoned hope. It is her conviction to stay true to her mission and beliefs that makes Moana an excellent role model for Littles. ❤

IV. Personal Development Lesson:

When you choose a partner for a D/s relationship, it is a monumental step. It is a journey of connecting physically, emotionally, and even spiritually. You must trust your mind and heart in the person that you pick. You need to know what you’re seeking in a partner and what expectations you have. While there will be many times in your relationship where you’ll need to compromise… have conviction on what morals and values are, and find a partner who has those too. Have conviction in who you are as a dominant or submissive. I urge you to know yourself before you get into a D/s relationship. That way you will be able to better lead or submit. You will come to your partner from a place of knowing yourself on a deeper level, and that will help your relationship thrive.

  1. What I like the most about this series that you did is the personal development lesson you’ve included at the end. There are a lot of valuable nuggets of information within them, and of course, you know I agree with this particular one. Having conviction, knowing who you are (whether a Dom or a sub) is important. Hell, it’s important whether you’re referring to the lifestyle…or just life in general. Well done.

    1. Awww! *blushes* Thank you, hun. Coming from you that means the world. ❤ Everyone's journey (whether dom or sub) is like a slow walk along a path. You shift, change, grow, and learn all kinds of valuable lessons. I'm in my own season of growth again. I can feel it. ❤ Thank you for your love and support along the way. It means the world. 🙂 I hope you enjoy the Countdown to Halloween that's coming up next. xx
